Clear Together — Free sample

Try one ordinary household topic with another willing adult. Participation is optional; stop or skip any prompt. Nia is a fictional AI host, not a therapist. This sample offers general educational exercises, not an assessment or a promised outcome. It is not designed for situations involving fear, coercion, threats, or abuse. Do not record, publish, or share the other person’s answers without consent.

The complete $24 workbook contains fourteen days of exercises and an offline weekly planner. This sample includes Day 1, the Day 7 meeting agenda, and a reusable weekly sheet. Examples are fictional.

Day 1 — Choose one ordinary friction point

Aim: Pick a small enough subject to discuss today. Do not start with a catalogue of everything that feels unfair.

Each person silently completes: “One recurring household moment I would like to make easier is ______.” Read both answers. Choose one that affects the coming week and can be described without diagnosing anyone's personality. If you choose different subjects, take turns choosing: one today, the other at the next meeting.

Say: “When ______ happens, the practical difficulty for me is ______. Could we look at one small change?” The listener says: “The situation you mean is ______. Have I understood it?” Correct the situation, not the person's worth.

Worked example: Alex says, “When we decide dinner at seven, I have already started another task and cannot shop. Could we choose tomorrow's meal tonight?” Jo reflects, “The late decision makes the shopping difficult. You want a decision earlier.” They try a five-minute meal choice after dinner, for two evenings only.

Close with: “Does this feel small enough to try?” If not, shrink it. Carry one action forward; leave the rest for later.

Day 7 — Hold a twenty-minute weekly meeting

Aim: Leave with a short plan, not a longer list of grievances.

Start only if both people agree to meet. Use a timer if helpful; either can request a pause. Keep this meeting to everyday logistics. Write unrelated topics on an optional later list instead of expanding the agenda.

Read-aloud agenda

  1. Minutes 0–3: Notice. “One practical thing I appreciated this week was ______.” Name an action, without adding “but.”
  2. Minutes 3–6: Check capacity. “Here is what affects my availability next week.”
  3. Minutes 6–10: Review. “Which trial helped, which was awkward, and what did we learn?”
  4. Minutes 10–16: Choose. Select up to three actions. Give each an owner, a definition of done, and a date or schedule.
  5. Minutes 16–19: Read back. Each person describes their own accepted actions. Correct different interpretations.
  6. Minute 19–20: Close. Set the next review, and say one thing you are glad is clearer.

Worked meeting result: Alex shops Wednesday using the shared list finalized Tuesday 8 p.m.; Jo handles Friday dinner including cleanup; both leave Sunday morning free of household projects. Review Sunday 6 p.m. The plan contains three decisions, not a permanent redistribution of every task.
