Small Hours - free sample

Start here

Choose one everyday moment to improve. Read one short page a day and try its small action. Most exercises are designed to take about two to five minutes; that is a design intention, not a measured result. Keep the same routine long enough to learn whether it fits. You may use a smaller version, skip a day, or stop.

This free sample includes the starting card, a worked example and the Day 1 exercise below. The paid $19 Small Hours kit adds all 30 daily exercises, four weekly review pages, a printable tracking sheet and an offline tracker that can print your entries. A paper copy is enough. In the paid tracker, saving is optional and stores entries in this browser on this device; anyone with device access may see them. Use no sensitive health information.

Your starting card:

A worked example

Sam finishes freelance work at different times and starts the next day by searching for the right document. Sam chooses: after closing the last work call, write one next action on a card. On a late day, a few words count. After a week, Sam notices the cue fails when there is no call. Sam changes it to closing the laptop. This example demonstrates adjustment, not a proven improvement in productivity.

The action should be useful in its own right. If logging takes more time than the action, simplify the log. If another person shares the space, agree on changes together. Your record is information; it is not a score of your character.

Day 01 | Choose one friction point

Pick one moment that repeatedly feels unfinished: beginning work, closing work, or resetting a shared surface. Choose a moment you can influence yourself.

Example: After I close my laptop, I will write tomorrow's first task on one card.

Try it: Which moment would be easier if I made just one decision in advance?
